The UK-based Blister pack manufacturer Mister Blister has invested £250,000 in a new equipment 'Illig RD 53C' for expanding its footprints to food sector.

The investment has been made as part of company’s ongoing plans for to formerly unveil a new division for its work in the food market ‘Caterline’, which will be launched on 1 September 2010 with an exclusive website for itself.

Mister Blister also manufactures blister packs for sectors including DIY, medical, electrical, sports and telecoms. It has a turnover in excess of £4m.

Mister Blister managing director Gary Briscoe stated that this machine is far more efficient and replaces old kit. This machine improves cycle speeds by 50%. The company has spent £50,000 on the factory with a new extraction unit alongside a new compressor unit, as reported by PackagingNews.

“Our Virtuweld technology of tamper resistant packaging has expanded to salad bowls, sandwich wedges and tortilla packs,” Briscoe added.
