Horst Schluckwerder, a German confectionery company, has bought LX100FF overwrapper from Marden Edwards, a UK based company engaged in manufacturing of wrapping and packaging machines equipment.

Horst Schluckwerder has been using an ME entry-level machine to wrap their chocolates and marzipans.

Horst Schluckwerder owner Rolf Schluckwerder commented that they had to fasten their productivity without compromising on the appearance of their finished carton.

“We operate at the high end of the confectionery market and our packaging needs to reflect the quality of the products,” Schluckwerder said.

Schluckwerder can now wrap 60 cartons per minute compared to the earlier the model of wrapping 35 cartons per minute.

LX100FF enables customization thereby helping in the production of a wide range of packs in different sizes and styles including an envelope-end fold and a concealed overlap on the bottom of the carton.

With the installation of LX100FF, Schluckwerder can take the advantage of different options available such as tear-tape application and also have the chance of using uncoated paper with a cold-glue joint.

The purchase was dealt with by ME’s partner in Germany Kopp Verpackungssysteme.
