UK-based manufacturer of vacuum formed packaging company, Macpac has completed a £0.75m expansion programme with the installation of two Illig machines.

According to the company, the expansion would enable it to target the food industry with its range of bespoke packaging.

Macpac managing director Graham Kershaw said the new machinery combined with in-house tooling makes the service versatile for quick changeover times that makes economical for short-batch runs.

As part of the investment, Macpac has bought two new machines an Illig RV74c and an RD53c, reports packagingnews.co.uk.

The firm’s plant has been expanded with an extra 15,000sqft of space to incorporate a new palletising system.

Macpac supplies a wide range of point-of sale and bespoke packaging solutions to a diverse cross section of industry and blue chip retail companies.

It also offers the semi bespoke Eurocel range that gives more of a customized look and feel.
