Austria-based confectionery manufacturer Josef Manner has employed sensor solutions from Germany-based SICK, for the production and packaging processes at its Manner manufacturing facility for detection, control, counting and sorting tasks.

SICK has installed contrast sensors to enable the confectionery manufacturer flexibility when changing products and formats are employed in final packaging where various materials, shapes and sizes of packages, changing scanning distances, colours, shapes and contrast relations plus high process speeds present particular challenges, reports packagingmag.

SICK has provided single-source photoelectric sensors from various series (W4, W9, W11 and W12) to Josef Manner that would monitor packaging, capture product data, control quality and count applications.

It also includes optical food and beverage sensors, as well as inductive sensors with IP 69K enclosure rating and DIN 40050.
