US-based provider of paper and packaging products International Paper has planned to phase out pre-print operations at its Shreveport manufacturing facility over the next three months. The pre-print operation at Shreveport prints packaging for the consumer products industry.

shreveporttimes.com quoted a company news release to be reporting that the plant’s coating operations will continue to operate.

The decision to phase out the pre-print operations has been reportedly made to take advantage of the efficiencies in its other facilities. The phasing out of the plant will result in the loss of a few jobs as well.

The Shreveport plant became operational in 1986. The plant specializes in high-end printing and coatings for packaging in the consumer products, industrial and protein industries.
