UK’s organic food wholesaler, Infinity Foods has opted to wrap its range of snack packs with Innovia Films’ NatureFlex NK.
The transparent high barrier compostable cellulose-based material has the ‘best moisture barrier of any transparent single layer biopolymer film currently available’, reports packagingnews.co.uk.
According to Infinity Foods, the film was chosen to boost the co-operative’s environmental credentials and limit the environmental impact and carbon footprint.
The Infinity range comprises products that include Organic Chocolate Buttons, Organic High Energy Trail Mix and Hot Chilli Cashew Nuts.
Infinity Foods has collaborated with Aboxhigh packaging in this regard.
Aboxhigh packaging consultant Andy Skinner said the high visual shelf appeal of the packs, coupled with sustainability and reduction in carbon footprint fulfils all the criteria that Infinity Foods require.
NatureFlex films are based on renewable resources and use novel heatseal-resins on each side.
The films are static free and offer a super wide heatseal range for outstanding machine performance and offer good gas barrier properties, and the coatings can be tailored to provide varying degrees of moisture barrier, depending on the needs of the wrapped product.
