Strategy to increase its sales in beer market

Poland-based Grupa Zywiec, a beer producing company, is intending to launch plastic beer bottle for the Tatra brand, reported PMR, quoting Rzeczpospolita as its source. Earlier the company, for its Warka brand, had introduced a 1.5-litre, plastic beer bottle.

According to Sebastian Tolwinski, a spokesman for Zywiec, the production of the new bottles had to be boosted as a result of the increase in sales of the Warka in the new containers.

Currently the Warka and Tatra beers are produced in plastic bottles in Slovakia. Due to increasing demand for the product, the company may move its production operations to Poland.

Due to the decrease in demand for beer in the Polish market since the beginning of 2009, the company has introduced the new plastic bottles as a strategy during the crisis.

Due to the current economic scenario, Zywiec has cut its expenditure on promotional activities but still continues to support major promotional events such as the Open’er music festival.
