Machine vision systems supplier Cognex has unveiled a new version of the In-Sight Track & Trace identification and data verification solution for healthcare serialization.
The latest version is a follow-up to deployments of In-Sight Track & Trace 1.0 and includes improvements that address additional requirements for pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers to achieve product traceability at unit-level.
The solution can be used by the customers with multiple networked In-Sight vision systems to decode human-readable text along with 2-D and 1-D barcodes.
According to the company, the barcodes include Data Matrix, GS1-128, GS1 DataBar, securPharm and Pharmacode.
The pre-programmed add-on software package, which needs little set up through a touch screen or HMI, can be integrated into third-party serialization software or MES with industrial protocol support and built-in I/O controls.
Also included are the technical controls that are required for FDA 21 CFR Part 11 validation, along with secure user authentication and automatic audit trail generation.
