Cada Design Group has developed green food and beverage packaging for Beirut Airport in Lebanon making it the world's first airport with environmentally sourced packaging.

Cada collaborated with Fulcrum that operates outlets at the airport to create a variety of packaging that includes bags, bottles, coffee cups, napkins, sandwich boxes, salad pots and related labelling.

Following an audit by Cada, the Group was commissioned to design, source and implement environmentally friendly packaging using innovations such as sugar-beet tray liners.

The ‘eco’ packaging will start to roll out in January next year, according to the Design Week.

Fulcrum approached Cada in November last year based on its consultancy credentials with food outlets such as Dean & Deluca.
A two-and-a-half 12m-long containers-worth of the new packaging to the airport has already been delivered.

Cada co-founder David Anderson said the company achieved an almost 100% eco packaging solution for the airport’s food and beverages.
