US-based AptarGroup has introduced a new pump which guarantees the safety and integrity of preservative-free cosmetic formulas, showcased under the name ‘Irresistible’.
The pump uses the Ultragate technology that combines two types of barriers against external contamination.
According to the company, the first barrier uses 0.2 micron sterilizing filters that can stop the smallest bacteria.
The technology derived from the pharmaceutical industry, specially from nasal preservatives-free sprays, has finally been implemented for a cosmetic pump, reports premiumbeautynews.com.
A second barrier exists to avoid the retro-contamination of the product through a contact of the user’s fingers with the tip of the pump.
A number of external partners were involved in validating the performance of Irresistible, which protect the sensitive formulas from all contamination risks.
The pump is available in atmospheric, airless versions and features a ‘Tip Seal’ shut-off valve.
