US-based blow moulder Alpha Packaging has acquired Progressive Plastics of Cleveland.

The move is set to broaden Alpha’s reach into growth markets.

Alpha President and CEO Dave Spence said it makes sense to help move the success and profitability across the nation, with the six production facilities in different parts of the US.

Post acquisition, Progressive will continue to make preforms in Cleveland, which will then be shipped to other Alpha plants for production of containers for a variety of end markets.

Alpha is a blow moulder of high density polyethylene and PET bottles and jars for the personal care, pharmaceutical, nutritional supplement, and niche food and beverage markets.

Besides, Alpha’s Technigraph decorating division provides decorating services to leading personal care brands.

Alpha executive vice president Corporate Development Dan Creston said Progressive’s product lines expand the number of products that can be taken to the market.

Progressive makes bottles for the household chemicals, food packaging, personal care and auto care markets.
