Clarifoil has launched a new range of cast polyvinyl alcohol (PVA/PVOH) water soluble films under the brand name of Clarisol.
The product, the company’s first ever cast water-soluble film (it has traditionally produced cast acetate films made from wood pulp), is aimed at the growing market for soluble pouches and sachets of liquid and powder products for household products such as detergents and fabric conditioners, dishwasher additives, and garden products like weedkillers and plant food.
Clarifoil says Clarisol also has applications in the commercial and industrial market for soluble sachets of products such as cleaning fluids and pre-measured doses of chemical and pharmaceutical products used in farms and professional horticulture.
Clarisol is a cast film which Clarifoil says provides better uniformity and quality consistency than extruded PVOH soluble films and performs well on high speed production and filling lines.
Additional production facilities have been installed at Clarifoil’s Spondon, Derby plant to produce Clarisol and the new soluble film will be marketed utilising Clarifoil’s established technical support resources and worldwide distribution channels.
