Global distribution and outsourcing group Bunzl has acquired UK-based Lightning Packaging for an undisclosed sum.
Lightning Packaging supplies industrial packaging products to different end user customers for multiple market sectors across the UK.
The company distributes a range of packaging materials such as corrugated cases (boxes), tapes, cushioning products, polythene products, strappings, paper products, postal packing supplies, packing room equipment and custom made packaging products for both dispatch and storage.
The company produces shipping and postal packaging boxes such as small cardboard boxes, foam lined cardboard cartons, mail order cartons and printers cartons.
Lightning Packaging also produces adhesive tape and packing tape products for heavy duty and high volume applications.
The firm’s product portfolio also includes polythene packaging materials for polythene packaging materials.
Lightning Packaging is specialized in the production and distribution different label and tag solutions. The company produces printed labels for use in advertising, identification or security applications.
The firm also produces cushioning materials and void fill solutions for professional packaging applications.
Some of the products include loosefill cushioning, vermiculite void fill, protective foam rolls, Fill-Air 2000 inflatable packaging system, Instapak handheld packaging system and Instapak speedy packer.
Meanwhile, Bunzl announced that its revenue for the year is expected to have increased by around 15% at actual exchange rates.
The company noted that revenue is expected to be increased between 9% and 10%, at constant exchange rates, due to similar levels of growth from both organic revenue and the impact of acquisitions.
