Bobst recently played host to the European Diemakers Association for a seminar on die cutting at the machinery manufacturer’s plant at Mex in Switzerland.

More than 140 people from 17 countries saw presentations on the latest innovations centred on corrugated box production, particularly developments that reduce setting times and optimise the acceleration and deceleration of the corrugated sheet.

ESU/EDA secretary Friedrich Hogrefe says: “Diemaking has gone from being a craft industry to being part of the industrial world. New, automated production equipment enables us to better fulfill the quality and price requirements demanded by our customers. This kind of seminar is a great help in developing our relationships with our customers thanks to the improvement of the diemakers’ skills.”
