Benson Group, the independent manufacturer of printed folded carton packaging, has acquired chilled food packaging specialist Integrated Packaging.
Integrated Packaging, which adds £18 million of sales turnover into the Benson Group portfolio, will remain a distinct trading entity. The 180 jobs at the firm in Team Valley Gateshead are secure and the general manager, Andrew Pybus, will also remain in place with continuing executive responsibility for the business.
The acquisition is the third to be made by Benson Group in the past two years. The group acquired Medica Packaging in 2005 and Print Design & Graphics (PDG) in the first half of 2006.
