Chairman and ceo of Barry Wehmiller Robert H Chapman has announced the closing of the acquisition of PCMC – the largest in the company’s history. It is expected to grow Barry-Wehmiller’s 2006 revenues to approximately $800M.

PCMC is a leading manufacturer of flexo presses and converting machinery for tissue and non wovens. Its operations will remain in Green Bay and retain the PCMC brand name. The company also has operations in England, Italy and Brazil, and employs more than 1,000 people worldwide.

Rick Baer, executive vice president of corporate development, says: “We are confident that PCMC will be further strengthened within the culture of Barry-Wehmiller and will be a competitive force in its global markets”.

Barry-Wehmiller is a world leading supplier of packaging, corrugating and paper converting technology, as well as industrial consulting services. Its companies include MarquipWardUnited, manufacturer of equipment for the corrugated and folded carton industries.

Sergio Casella, managing director of PCMC Italia, will assume the additional responsibility for the European operations of PCMC, which include facilities in Plymouth, UK, and Ettlingen, Germany.
