Rotomec says its TAPS automatic pre-register setting system for gravure printing of flexible materials is easy to use and reduces makeready and change-over waste to unprecedented levels.

TAPS is said to guarantee the repeatability of the minimum start-up waste because it is “the first register presetting system based only on what is printed on the web”. It completes the presetting procedure in a few minutes by reading a dedicated pattern printed on the web and phasing each cylinder accordingly.

Therefore, it is totally independent of the operator’s skill, web path configuration and parameter adjustment, and there is no need of manual operation or special tools.

The cylinders can be inserted in the press in any angular position and with a single touch control, TAPS starts the press, moves all the cylinders into register and switches the register control into automatic mode, whether it is a new or repeat job.
