ASDA has developed a new PET container for its Extra Special range of fresh dips. The product, manufactured by Geest Foods, one of the UK’s leading producers of fresh prepared food, was made exclusively for ASDA by Owens Illinois Plastics.
Jason Naylor, ASDA category manager at Geest, comments: “We wanted to create a table presentable container that would complement the products premium brand values. By using PET, which is new to this product area, we have achieved a similar visual appearance to glass but have provided a lighter weight, more versatile option.”
The Extra Special 170g pot is a new tier to the ASDA dip category for 2003. The design is at home in the dining room and the picnic hamper.
