Ardagh Group, Glass – North America has introduced two new American-made 375ml Belgian beer bottles.
The new 375ml Belgian Crown and Belgian Cork bottles complement Ardagh’s existing 750ml Belgian Crown and Belgian Cork bottles.
Ardagh developed the two Belgian bottles based on the results of a bottle design contest carried out at the 2017 Craft Brewers Conference.
The bottles, which are mad by using amber and flint glass, can be fully recycled.
The company is offering new 375ml Belgian Crown and 375ml Belgian Cork bottles on its BOB beer site.
At present, the BOB site portfolio comprises 12 different beer bottles, which are manufactured in the US.
Nielsen’s Craft Beer Category Design Audit revealed that 70% of US craft beer consumers make their purchase decisions at the store shelf, instead in advance.
66% of consumers say that a beer’s package/label plays a key role for getting them to notice it.
Ardagh Group’s North American Glass division chief commercial officer Alex Robertson said: “Ardagh Group is proud to offer craft brewers the unique 375ml bottle design for packaging their craft beer.
“This classy bottle design will truly stand out on store shelves, offering brewers the brand differentiation they desire.”
Earlier this month, Ardagh announced plans to permanently close its glass container production facility in Milford, Massachusetts, US.
The firm said that the decision to close the facility comes in response to the decrease in demand from the mass beer market in the US.
The facility, which employs 250 people, is planned to be closed on or after 31 March this year.
