Amcor White Cap launches three in one closure

Amcor White Cap has launched a modified 51mm press-on twist-off tinplate cap with universal compound for glass containers – the 51 PTU.

Customer benefits of the new cap are considerable. There is now one closure for all three heat treatment processes – sterilisation, pasteurisation and hot-fill.

Opening torque was assessed over 12 months and the new closure’s performance in both sterilisation and pasteurisation was compatible with the two closures previously used.

Mixing of closures during production can now be avoided and the new single closure obviates the need for cap changeovers.
