Reflex Printed Plastics, a specialist litho and plastics printer based in Kent, has launched a marketing pack, “the Magic Box”, entirely created using lenticular printing to showcase its expertise with a process increasingly popular with brand owners and retailers keen to market their products in eye-catching packaging.
The Magic Box, available free of charge, details each lens's benefits and provides in-depth advice on lenticular use.
Conceived by design agency Bussroot, the pack includes examples of effects including morphing, animation, flips and 3D lenticular, as well as complex cutting, creasing and folds created on Reflex’s specially adapted Young-shin machine. The Magic Box also combines traditional silk screened chrome with litho printed lenticular, creating a rich metallic effect.
Three lenticular lenses are used – 62 lines per inch (lpi), 75 lpi and 161 lpi. The latter was required to animate the intricate detail of a pocket watch.
