A new carton forming machine from Bortolin Kemo hot glues the bottom flaps so that extremely rigid containers are created that are suitable for automatic packing lines.

The vacuum unit, consisting of suction cups on the head enables the cartons to be picked up, opened and handled. The cartons are conveyed to the flap folders and glue-spraying guns. They are then directed to the bottom-pressing area.

The system is run by a series of circular coaxial cams that transmit co-ordinated movement to different machine stations. This means that only one motor speed adjuster is required.

The load-bearing structure has welded steel sections that are enclosed in a stainless steel guard with panelling that can be opened. An automatic outfeed places the cartons upright and makes them fall vertically onto the conveyor that complements the carton filling machine.
