Wynnchurch Capital has acquired US-based customised industrial protective packaging solutions provider FCA Packaging from Delos Capital.

Established in 1985, FCA has 34 facilities in the US to provide engineered, custom-designed packaging goods from to blue-chip OEMs working in a wide variety of end markets.

The firm provides complete solutions for a range of packaging materials, including wood, steel, corrugated, and hybrid.

FCA CEO David Wilsted said: “We are committed to providing our customers with best-in-class packaging solutions and unmatched service and are excited to partner with Wynnchurch as we continue into the next phase of growth.

“Wynnchurch understands FCA’s business model and its role as a critical partner to our customers’ supply chains.

“Together, we can continue to grow our platform as the leading provider in protective packaging solutions.”

Stifel Financial served as the sole debt placement agent for Wynnchurch, while Lincoln International acted as the sell-side advisor to FCA Packaging.

Wynnchurch managing partner Frank Hayes said: “We are very pleased to partner with FCA, which has a long, established track record of delivering industry-leading quality, uniquely designed solutions, and just-in-time service.

“Its customer-centric focus and highly engineered industrial applications are a strong fit with our investment philosophy of acquiring well-managed industry leaders.”

Wynnchurch partner Neel Mayenkar said: “The management team at FCA has done an incredible job building the company into one of the largest providers of custom industrial packaging solutions.

“We are excited about the opportunity to partner with David and the team as we continue to expand the company’s footprint and product portfolio to better service its growing customer base.”

In December, Wynnchurch made a strategic growth investment in Mattress Warehouse, an independent mattress retailer with more than 300 outlets, as part of its strategic development plan.

In December last year, the firm announced the acquisition of thermal coating business assets of Appvion and its subsidiaries for an undisclosed sum.
