A 34-year-old employee at the Linpac Containers corrrugated box plant at Louth in Lincolnshire has died after reportedly becoming trapped in machinery at the factory.

The incident happened early in the morning of July 4, causing fatal injuries to Colin Blades, a production operative from Louth.

An inquest into Blades’s death was opened and adjourned, while the Health and Safety Executive is to investigate the circumstances. A statement from the plant’s operations director Simon Hedison added: “Linpac has an excellent health and safety record. We have contacted Mr Blades’s immediate family and are making arrangements to give whatever assistance they may need. Our deepest sympathies go out to them at this very difficult time.”
