Gallus has developed the new EM 340 flexo press to cater for the popular 13in web width. With the proven platform technology of the existing EM 260/410/520 production programme claimed to offer over 100 variations, the company says the machine will bring a new level of versatility to the market for 13in label presses.

Vice president sales & marketing Klaus Aarestrup comments: “The EM 340 fulfils two roles. It plugs the gap in our range for the 13in web width, which will open new markets for us; and by using existing and proven technology, it will allow label converters to enjoy the benefits of production flexibility previously unknown on a press of this size.”

Available in up to 24 stations including water based and UV flexo, offset, rotary screen and hot and coldfoil stamping, the new press can also print reverse side without turning the web. Varnishing, laminating and embossing are options, while die cutting can be flatbed or rotary. Open architecture allows numbering and inkjet units to be fitted, and multi web and double pass options offer unrivalled and diverse market opportunities, it is claimed.

Capable of handling paper, film and foil based substrates, the Gallus EM 340 has a top speed of 150m/min.
