Westfall Technik, a provider of plastics manufacturing solutions, has acquired sustainable packaging solutions provider Carolina Precision Plastics (CPP Global) and its wholly-owned subsidiaries for an undisclosed sum.

CPP Global is a multi-site consumer packaging moulder, which serves customers in the beauty care, cosmetics, beverage and consumer goods markets.

The company’s product stock consists of jars, jar caps, compacts, lip balms and solid sticks, as well as bottles.

CPP Global has around 100 injection moulding machines at its three facilities, which consist of up to 335,000ft² of manufacturing space.

The company is also specialised in offering secondary services such as high-volume, fully automated assembly and decorating capabilities.

CPP, which has expertise in the injection moulding of heavy-wall PET jars, also runs an advanced collaborative design centre.

The company also significantly uses recycled resins and biopolymers in its products.

The acquisition will allow Westfall to add first plants in the south-eastern US, specifically in Mocksville and Asheboro of North Carolina and Kaiping, China.

Westfall chief operating officer Mark Gomulka said: “This highly strategic, synergistic deal greatly strengthens our presence in the fast-moving consumer goods segment.

“CPP Global is a valued packaging supplier to several leading personal care and beauty companies, such as L’Oréal (serving their L’Oréal Paris and Kiehl’s brands), Estée Lauder, and Burt’s Bees, among others.”

Morrison Cohen served as legal counsel to Westfall for the transaction, while Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton as legal counsel and Stifel as financial advisor to CPP Global.

In May 2019, Westfall Technik acquired Delta Pacific Products and its wholly-owned subsidiaries Prism Plastics Products and NxTBio Technologies.

Established in 2017, Westfall Technik offers advanced plastics manufacturing solutions to the medical, consumer packaging and consumer goods industries.
