West of Scotland Packaging, near Glasgow, has installed VOC abatement equipment. The factory prints PE and PP films, PE bags and laminations for a wide variety of products.
Haden Drysys Environmental, supplied a two-canister regenerative thermal oxidizer to provide abatement for the VOC emissions which can arise from printing inks. The RTO provides complete compliance with environmental legislation, and has solved a slight odour problem, again caused by emissions from the inks.
The oxidizer can handle an airflow of 12,000Nm³/hour and is designed to adapt to future demands. The equipment was designed to handle the airflow from four presses.
