Speciality materials manufacturer Vertellus has acquired speciality additives provider Polyscope Polymers for an undisclosed sum.

Polyscope is engaged in the development and production of styrene maleic anhydride (SMA) copolymers suitable for product applications across the automotive, electronic, and speciality coatings & ink markets.

The firm delivers a range of SMA and SMANPMI co and terpolymers and compounds for engineering plastic and speciality chemical applications under the brand names Xiran and Xiloy.

Polyscope CEO Patrick Muezers said: “Vertellus is the ideal partner to support the company’s next phase of growth and innovation.

“We will be able to leverage Vertellus’ global resources, capabilities and strong market leadership to better serve our customers and bring our high-quality products to additional customers throughout our markets.”

Serving as a major partner to over 300 customers in more than 35 countries, Polyscope has an advanced production facility in Geleen, the Netherlands.

Polyscope also manages local compounding, contract manufacturing facilities and sales and marketing support in Europe, North America, and Asia.

The acquisition of Polyscope will allow Vertellus to add a complementary product portfolio and advanced manufacturing capabilities, in addition to expanding its European production capabilities and broadening its presence in high-growth end markets.

Vertellus, owned by Pritzker Private Capital and management, offers speciality materials for various personal care, performance coatings, polymer additives, healthcare and, food and beverage markets.

Based in Indianapolis, Vertellus employs over 1,300 employees across its 15 international research and manufacturing facilities.
