The company unveiled the new sustainable coolers at this year’s Pack Expo event in Chicago, which is being held from 14 to 17 October.

Ohana Cooler is a reusable and recyclable cooler for consumers, while Vericooler Plus is a cooler with compostable thermal insulation.

Ohana Cooler, which is provided as a 32-quart cooler, can be easily placed in curbside recycling.

The new cooler is a sustainable alternative to EPS (Styrofoam), and can be used in outings, boating, camping and sporting events.

Developed by using post-consumer materials, the Ohana Cooler can hold up to 50 lbs of water and ice, as well as available in custom sizes for large-volume retailers that provide environmentally-friendly consumer product lines.

Vericooler Plus has been developed for the food delivery, specialty pharmaceutical and health care industries.

The new recyclable cooler with compostable insulation is in line with the US ASTM D6400 and EN13432 industrial and home compost standards.

Removal of the moisture barrier film enables the plant-based insulation to safely dissolve in water.

According to the company, the Vericooler Plus’ design replaces environmentally harmful plastic and foam insulation, and non-recyclable metalized bubble bags.

The cost-effective and lightweight Vericooler Plus cooler provides temperature-customizable thermal protection, and holds capacity to ship flat to customer site or fulfillment vendors.

Vericool CEO and founder Darrell Jobe said: “Over the past year, our company has grown at breakneck speed, as more and more industries recognize that it is important to use sustainable Vericoolers to keep their products cool from packaging to receipt—a recognition fueled by the growing environmental consciousness of consumers around the world.

“Communities, counties, states and entire countries are banning Styrofoam, in light of the devastating impact of single-use plastics and EPS on wildlife, waterways and coastal communities around the world.”

Based in Livermore of California, Vericool produces a range of Vericoolers, which will protect food, medicines and other temperature sensitive products.
