International automation technologies supplier Valmet has agreed to supply Old Corrugated Container (OCC) and OptiConcept M containerboard production lines with a winder for Mondi SCP's mill in Ružomberok, Slovakia.

Valmet’s delivery of PM 19 including its automation solutions is anticipated to produce new eco-friendly containerboard grade, kraft top white.
The PM 19 is expected to start operations at the end of 2020.
The kraft top white would be manufactured with strength, printability and appearance benefits with a white virgin fiber at top layer and economic advantages with a recycled fiber at bottom layer.
Valmet’s delivery includes a hardwood stock line, a save-all and broke system, an approach flow system and a complete OCC line.

OptiRefiber recycled fiber line, the other name of OCC line contains pulper feeding and vertical pulper systems, high and low consistency cleaning systems and coarse and fine screening systems with fractionation, thickening disc filters and long fiber dispersion system are equipped to this line.
Valmet’s high capacity containerboard machine delivery includes an OptiConcept M containerboard machine from headbox to reel followed by an OptiWin Drum two-drum winder equipped with Dual Unwind that results in giving higher capacity.
Additinally, Valmet also delivers an OptiAir high humidity hood and other associated air and ventilation systems, a surface starch preparation system and supply system for sizer.
The automation technology in Valmet’s delivery comprises Valmet IQ Quality Management System with web monitoring and inspection systems, and Valmet DNA Automation System. Along with these, Valmet Retention Measurement (Valmet RM3) andValmet Wet End Analyzers (Valmet WEM) are also supplied for process and machine controls.
The delivery also includes Valmet Advanced Process Controls with strength properties optimization and Valmet Performance Center on-demand expert support for solving any process or automation related issues.
