The new RX adhesive family includes two high-tack products, including RX15 and RX18.

The RX15 adhesive can be used for polar surfaces such as metal and glass, while RX18 adhesive is suitable for non-polar surfaces such as PP and PE plastics.

With advanced bonding and durability performance, the new adhesives can address challenging conditions experienced in automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics applications.

According to the company, the extreme-strength adhesives withstand extreme conditions and are resilient to chemicals and UV light.

UPM Raflatac segment manager Jouni Iiskola said: “The adhesives in our new RX product family provide extremely strong and enduring adhesion without resorting to solvents, which not only reduces the environmental impact of producing the labels, but also makes them a more ecodesigned choice for product labeling.

“With RX15 for polar surfaces like metal and glass and RX18 for non-polar surfaces like PP and PE plastics, a targeted adhesive can be chosen according to the substrate, leading to excellent product performance, extreme bonding, and life-long durability.”

In October this year, UPM Raflatac has introduced two new missing label detection products, which in combination with a camera sensor, make it easier to ensure that labels are present and adhered correctly.

The company said both label detection products appear clear under normal lighting conditions, but make it easier to identify if the label is present when exposed to UV light.

In September this year, UPM Raflatac introduced new Vanish PCR line of ultra-thin clear film labels with recycled content face.

UPM Raflatac is engaged in the development of advanced and sustainable labeling solutions, and is also one of major of self-adhesive label materials.

Via global network of factories, distribution terminals and sales offices, the company distributes paper and film label stock for consumer product and industrial labeling applications.

With around 3,000 employees, the company has generated sales of around $1.9bn in 2017.
