The new purpose-built facilities will help the packaging firm to better serve customers in the food, pharmaceutical and household goods sectors.

Ulma said the energy-efficient premises in Church Lane of Dinnington are three times bigger than its earlier headquarters.

The company has invested in 2,000m² of factory space, including 400m² showroom, to help meet its future requirements.

Ulma’s new facilities, which can hold more stock and spare parts, feature working machines for demonstration purposes, helping customers to trial different solutions to automate or modernise their production lines.

Ulma UK managing director Chris Pickles said: “Our new location and the ability to hold more spare parts on site will ensure we can deliver even speedier service support.

“We’ve always been totally focused on the overall customer experience and unrivalled service levels; we’re now in a much stronger position to ensure customers and prospects alike can see for themselves how our solutions might integrate with their own production line technology, to achieve the ultimate aim of improving productivity and boosting the bottom line.”

Part of the Ulma Group, the packaging firm supplies a range of advanced solutions, including thermoformers, flow pack, fill and seal, traysealing, blister pack, shrink wrapping and sleeve wrapping machines, to the customers in the UK market.

Ulma Packaging also provides a range of solutions in non food areas, including medical, retail, electrical, and household.

Suitable for both food and non food applications, the horizontal flow wrappers will create a pillow pack style bag using one flat reel of film.

The flow wrap machines provide flexibility to use a variety of different film types for both ambient and modified atmosphere packaging.

Earlier this year, Ulma Packaging showcased the latest in high performance fill and seal technology at the Foodex exhibition.

The company exhibited Air Extraction System (Tight Bag) to tackle excess air in the bag from frozen products without affecting the integrity of the packaging.
