Uflex says that its extrusion lamination machine, EL-1300 has received good feedback in India.

The company launched the extrusion lamination machine in India in July 2016. Uflex said innovation to create value added differentiation being the guiding vector at the company, the quest for re-engineering to come up with something more evolved and endearing for convertors to address their requirements towards several types of applications continued.

For running principal applications of extrusion coating/ lamination, mono extruders are good enough. But, the running costs and flexibility to play with various polymers, co-extruders are now becoming increasingly popular.

Besides, reducing costs, co-extruders also play an important role in enhancing barrier properties owing to multi-layered combination. The design of the tandem extruder is to execute multi-layered jobs in a single run to save on process time.

Uflex claims that it has a good feedback loop that helps it in tapping market pulse at all times. It is from this feedback, that the company has been able to offer additional features to the extrusion coating/ laminators including auto adjustment of the silicone belt, movement of extruder/T-die in three axis x-y-z, possibility of top and bottom splicing.

Uflex also claims that the EL-1300 has also been praised not just domestic convertors, but also by leading manufacturers from the west.

Uflex Limited Engineering Business President & CEO Ajay Tandon said: “This re-engineering and value addition gave birth to extrusion coating / laminators as Mono Extruder, Co-Extruder and Tandem Extruder variants.”

Uflex Limited chairman & managing director Ashok Chaturvedi said: “Only successful engineering is potent enough to quell the thirst for innovation.

"I am glad that my team has been able to add discernible value to the existing extrusion lamination machine by further engineering Mono Extruder, Co-Extruder and Tandem Extruder variants for meeting multifarious needs of convertors. Let me tell you that more value engineering on this front is in the offing and you shall hear from us about it in the near future.”
