Twin Rivers Paper, a US-based integrated specialty paper company, has completed the acquisition of Mondi Group’s paper mill in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Twin Rivers Paper, which is owned by Atlas Holdings and Blue Wolf Capital, manufactures specialty packaging, label, publishing, and technical specialty papers, and dimensional lumber.

Twin Rivers president Ken Winterhalter said: “We are confident we have the teams in place to provide a seamless and efficient transition for our customers and that the Pine Bluff mill will live up to Twin Rivers’ reputation for outstanding service.”

The acquired mill is involved in the production of multiwall, converting and bag-grade unbleached kraft papers, which can be used in a variety of food, agricultural, and industrial applications.

With basis weights between 40# and 78#, the Pine Bluff mill has a capacity of more than 140,000 US short tons.

In 2016, Twin Rivers also acquired the paper manufacturing assets of the Burrows Corporation to expand its operations in the packaging and technical markets.

Twin Rivers CEO Bob Snyder said: “Over the past few months we’ve learned a great deal about the mill and our new partners.

Based in Madawaska of Maine, Twin Rivers Paper produces its products under brands such as Acadia packaging products, Alliance label products, and Pharmopaque pharmaceutical papers.

Twin Rivers’ specialty papers can be used for thermal transfer printing and release liner applications that require silicone compatibility the need silicone compatibility.
