The partnership will incorporate TruTag’s edible barcode technology into PwC Food Trust platform.
The company noted that the globalization of supply chains resulted in a loss of control and visibility, and food misrepresentation, adulteration, diversion and counterfeiting are challenging consumer safety, as well as creating revenue loss to the food and beverage industry.
PwC Australia and TruTag have collaborated to address these challenges by providing security and traceability to global food supply chains.

Integrating TruTag’s edible barcode technology into the Food Trust platform will allow to deliver better supply chain visibility, said TruTag.

PwC Australia and TruTag are already working on the development of supply-chain technology programs with major customers in the meat and wine industry.
