US-based rigid packaging solutions distributor TricorBraun has agreed to acquire flexible packaging distribution firm PBFY from retail and promotional packaging supplier Pacific Western Sales (PWS).
The acquisition will help TricorBraun to expand its flexible packaging division, TricorBraun Flex.
PBFY is a full-service flexible packaging distributor in North America with ancillary manufacturing capabilities.
Based in California, PBFY has been providing flexible packaging services to various companies in the food, coffee, tea, health and beauty industries for almost 15 years.
According to TricorBraun, PBFY will now operate as PBFY, a TricorBraun company. It will be integrated into TricorBraun Flex following a transition period.
All members of the PBFY team will continue at TricorBraun.
TricorBraun president and chief executive officer Court Carruthers said: “PBFY is an important addition to our industry-leading flexible packaging offerings, enabling us to provide customers with expanded services and supply chain options.

The deal is expected to complete later this month.
PWS chief executive officer Lyndsey Tidwell said: “This is an exciting development for PBFY team members, customers, and suppliers.

Last month, TricorBraun snapped up UK-based packaging firm Neville and More for an undisclosed sum to expand its presence in Europe and around the world.
