TricorBraun has entered into an exclusive agreement with turn-key sustainable solutions provider BioBottles in a move to further expand its offerings in sustainable packaging.
The agreement allows the US-based packaging company to exclusively offer BioBottles biodegradable bottles to nutraceutical firms in the US and Canada.
The terms of the agreement were not revealed.
BioBottles is said to be designed and engineered particularly for the nutraceutical industry.
TricorBraun chief operations officer Mark O’Bryan said: “Sustainability matters to our customers and their consumers, and it matters to TricorBraun.
“Our exclusive BioBottles agreement is another example of our focused efforts to offer comprehensive, sustainable options for our customers. We are thrilled to partner with BioBottles to provide our customers with a solution that helps protect both their products and the planet.”
BioBottles, which uses proprietary technology, is claimed to be an environmentally responsible and cost-effective alternative for the packaging requirements of nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals.
BioBottles with Plastic IQ technology converts ordinary HDPE and PP caps, bottles, and scoops into a material which is not plastic any longer at the completion of its useful life when exposed to ultraviolet sunlight and oxygen, in the right conditions.
TricorBraun’s agreement with BioBottles is said to be the latest development in the former’s ongoing journey in sustainability as well as its continuous efforts to enhance its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impact.
