US-based rigid packaging solutions provider TricorBraun has acquired US-based full-service packaging provider SGB Packaging Group for an undisclosed sum.

Based in New Jersey, SGB Packaging offers packaging solutions for customers in the cosmetics, skincare, fragrance and personal care industries.

The company also serves customers in the makeup and hair care industries.

SGB’s packaging portfolio consists of droppers, glass and plastic cosmetic bottles, glass and plastic jars, fragrance glass, wood, bakelite and mascara brushes.

The company also offers cosmetic packaging, fragrance caps, pumps and accessories, sampling/blister on the card and secondary packaging solutions.

The acquisition of SGB will allow TricorBraun to expand its global supplier network, in addition to strengthening the firm’s operations in the cosmetics, skincare, fragrance, and personal care industries.

TricorBraun president and CEO Court Carruthers said: “Our acquisition of SGB Packaging strengthens our presence in growing industries, while serving customers with new products, and expanding our vast global supplier network.

“Shoshana Gibli and her team have built an impressive business known for its outstanding customer service, industry expertise, and diverse product offerings, and we are excited to welcome them to the TricorBraun family.”

All team members of SGB, including founder and president Shoshana Gibli, and senior leaders Lauren Gibli and Julie Gibli will continue to work with TricorBraun from the acquired firm’s existing location in Hackensack, New Jersey.

As a result of the deal, SGB Packaging will now run as SGB Packaging, a TricorBraun company.

In a statement, Shoshana Gibli said: “We are excited to explore new growth opportunities with TricorBraun, and we are thrilled to offer expanded services to customers – including TricorBraun’s custom design capabilities – helping to cement our business as a packaging one-stop shop.”

In March this year, TricorBraun acquired Canada-based RODA Packaging, a rigid packaging distributor with expertise in the chemicals, sealants and adhesives markets.
