Established in 1995, Precision Poly is engaged in the production of food grade and industrial co-extruded blown film bags and rolls for flexible packaging applications.

Precision Poly president Parnell Olson said: “Each company’s attractive portfolio of food and industrial products are highly complementary and we are well positioned for growth with the addition of Transcendia’s national infrastructure, diverse film manufacturing and converting capabilities and resources to expand our business.”

Precision Poly produces food grade mono-ply and co-extruded blown film bags, sheets, and rolls for packaging manufacturers in the food processing industry.

The company manufactures custom polyethylene films and bags for industrial packaging markets. It produces both mono-layer products and multi-layer (co-extruded) products.

The company operates a manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids of Michigan, which features streamlined extrusion processes that integrate in-line/dedicated bag machines and on-site converting for individually-cut products.

Transcendia effected the deal by the acquisition of Spire Flexpack, the parent company of Precision Poly.

The acquisition will help Transcendia to expand its material science expertise and technology platform in active packaging and engineered films for the food and beverage market.

Transcendia president and CEO Andy Brewer said: “The strategic acquisition of Precision Poly enhances Transcendia’s growing food and beverage segment through the addition of complementary multi-layer blown film technologies and an SQF rated facility location.

“Furthermore, it strengthens our sales channel to distributors for our broader product portfolio including our industry leading MetPro anti-corrosion packaging technologies to further support our global customers.”

Established in 1931, Transcendia provides custom engineered materials for critical product components in a range of markets and applications.

The company serves more than 5,000 global customers in various industries, including point of purchase-display, protective and aesthetic, industrial, food and beverage, window, anti-corrosion and security ID.

Based in Franklin Park of Illinois, the company has 16 ISO certified manufacturing and three company operated distribution centers across North America, Europe and Africa.
