Slovakian print company Tlačiareň Bardejov has purchased five-colour Rapida 76 with an inline coater and an Omega Allpro 90 folder-gluer technologies from Koenig & Bauer.

Germany-based printing press maker Koenig & Bauer said that Tlačiareň Bardejov has invested in these print and packaging technologies to boost its folding carton production capacities for new and future market demands.

The print company now has two sheetfed offset presses, including the Rapida 76, a CtP platesetter, an Omega Allpro 90 line for carton folding and glueing, automatic die-cutting and embossing presses, hot-stamping, laminating, and glueing machines.

It also has a range of other machinery to support packaging production.

The highly automated Rapida 76 in B2 half shape was built exclusively for Tlaiare Bardejov’s product line, Koenig & Bauer said. It will help Tlačiareň to produce packaging for wines and spirits as well as for e-commerce and print boards up to a thickness of 0.8mm.

Spot colours (Pantone, HKS, metallic inks) can be used with the fifth printing unit which ensures that the products can be printed and finished in a single pass, which eventually lowers production costs.

Additionally, the Rapida 76 has an integrated high-flow coater unit that handles simple inline dispersion coatings, and in combination with the last printing unit can deliver special multiple finishes.

Special multiple finishes are used to deliver matt-gloss refinements and add other visual effects to substrates.

In its expanded delivery, the Rapida 76 is outfitted with IR and hot-air drying, Koenig & Bauer said. This enables consistent drying even at high production speeds expediting processing of the printed sheets and consequently lower throughput times for individual tasks.

Tlačiareň Bardejov owner Karol Dvorčák said: “We recognised that it is currently essential to identify production reserves and to utilise savings potential. That is why we decided to network our production with production planning software.”

The Slovakian print company supplies folding cartons and other print products to customers both all over Slovakia and its neighbouring countries.
