Postponement packaging is the practice of keeping products market agnostic for as long as possible, enabling to add only relevant language leaflets and meet the local legislation needs when there is market demand.

The service will allow customers to solve their supply chain challenges such as variable demand and repackaging work.

Earlier this year, the company has invested in late stage customization printing capabilities, which will compliment the new service.

Tjoapack founder Eric Tjoa said: “Postponement packaging can offer customers more control over their supply chains. By giving them the flexibility to adapt to market related variations and avoid repackaging work, it is possible to lower working capital and reduce finished goods inventories. All of which can ultimately help to offset the rising cost of healthcare.

The first phase of the new postponement service is expected to be fully operational by the end of third quarter this year.

The company will conduct an event at its facility in Etten-Leur of Netherlands, on November 22 this year, to present the capabilities and the benefits of a postponement strategy to the pharmaceutical industry.

Tjoa further added: “Tender markets and varying regulatory requirements can have a huge impact on costs and timelines. Postponement packaging can help to tackle the common challenges with traditional supply chain models.

“At Tjoapack we’ve been exploring this concept for years. Launching this service is the culmination of a lot of hard work and as adoption of this type of strategy rises across the industry, we will continue to invest and expand our capabilities and capacity.”

Tjoapack offers flexible packaging and supply chain services to its customers. It provides primary and secondary packaging solutions to its customers.

The company offers packaging for oral solids, biotech packaging and unit dose packaging for hospital supply. Its product portfolio comprised of more than 3,000 SKUs, which are designed to meet the regulations of more than 40 markets across the globe.
