The MET 30+ 3f, from Lock Inspection Systems, is said to be the first metal detector to offer triple frequency detec-tion.

Other machines may oper-ate at varying frequencies, but these tend not to be at the optimum frequency for the product, says Lock. The MET 30+3f operates at three crystal frequencies – low, medium and high. Its Automatic Frequency Selection facility will choose the best frequency for the application. For example, when inspecting dry biscuits the detector automatically selects high frequency, whereas for an item wrapped in metallised film it will operate at low frequency.

The machine is supplied with two powerful 32-bit microprocessors to enable product inspection at 1000 times/sec. The automatic product set-up facility helps to minimise downtime by reducing the time spent configuring the detector and will memorise up to 100 products.
