Claimed to be the first EFI Nozomi installation in Asia, the press holds capacity to print up to 10,000 boards per hour, helping TCG to expand its inkjet corrugated production.

TCG managing director Poramate Larnroongroj said: “The Nozomi press delivers on the market opportunity many had hoped for with digital printing, unleashing new design possibilities for brands looking to differentiate themselves and effectively sell to a greater number of segmented markets.”

The Nozomi C18000 press is installed with an advanced single-pass and piezo grayscale inkjet writing system that will enable to deliver high-fidelity color, including consistent reproduction on solid areas.

The EFI corrugated packaging press features in-line inspection system to actively manage print quality.

The Nozomi C18000 press also holds capacity to match up to 97% of Pantone colors to meet the brand’s stringent brand color requirements.

It is also equipped with EFI’s Fiery NZ-1000 high-performance digital front end (DFE), which offers enhanced digital print color management tools.

The DFE can also quickly process and feed large volumes of job data, including variable text and images for fully personalized applications, at full press speeds.

With a six-color inkset (CMYK, orange and violet), TCG’s digital press will help reduce time required to launch new product designs on a range of applications, including packaging for footwear and consumer product shelf-ready packaging.

Nozomi single-pass inkjet press can print on materials from 14-point card stock to triple-wall board, including traditional Kemi, mottled, bleach and kraft materials, at full press-rated speeds.

The press will also allow TCG to create versioned designs for products in various local markets across Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

EFI Industrial Printing general manager and vice president José Luis Ramón Moreno said: “TCG can drive outstanding results for its customers through this partnership with one of the industry’s true breakthrough innovations – an ultra-high-speed, single-pass production platform that can handle the size, imaging and material handling challenges that previously limited the use of digital print in the corrugated space.”
