US-based material science company TekniPlex Consumer Products has introduced a new PCR dip tube in European markets for use in industrial aerosol and household cleaning product applications.

TekniPlex said that the ProTecFlow dip tube can be made from up to 100% post-consumer recycled content depending on the customers’ needs.

According to the firm, the tube has less environmental impact in comparison to virgin materials-based dispensing tubing products. It also maintains the same high-quality performance characteristics.

TekniPlex Europe and Asia liners business sales director Dirk De Mulder said: “Consumers are increasingly calling on brand owners to provide more eco-friendly products and packaging.

“Producing dip tubing with virgin materials is an energy-intensive process. A dip tube made of PCR reduces both natural resources usage and overall environmental impact. ProTecFlow is an example of our commitment to supporting a circular economy model.”

TekniPlex said that the ProTecFlow dip tubes are produced at its facilities in Belgium and Italy.

The company purchases the PCR resin from a local supplier in Europe and has plans to do the same in the US to ensure that the dip tube is available everywhere.

Earlier this month, TekniPlex acquired Mexico-based moulded fibre packaging provider Empaques Moldeados de America Tecnologias (EMATEC).
