Materials-based solutions provider TekniPlex Consumer Products has increased its vent manufacturing capabilities with newly added capacity at its Gronau plant in Germany.

The installation of the new equipment will allow the firm to directly weld venting capabilities into closures, serving a diverse clientele globally as a full-service solutions provider.

The newly added capacity will also help to meet the global market’s need for closure applications in the industrial and agrochemical sectors.

As TekniPlex continues to boost capacity around the globe, the new equipment in Germany expands the company’s direct welding capabilities from the US to Europe and enhances current venting in lining capabilities in both regions.

TekniPlex Europe and Asia liners business sales director Dirk De Mulder said: “The addition of venting capabilities to our Gronau facility allows us to be a full-service solutions provider for our overseas customers, with the ability to respond faster and more comprehensively to global needs.

“We are committed to continue identifying new opportunities that serve our customers where they are, and where they need us most.”

According to the company, with direct weld venting, a liner is not necessary because the membrane can be joined to the closure directly.

The new equipment provides better welds and quicker throughput for liner-less closures on industrial containers including totes, jerry cans, intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), and others.

De Mulder added: “In addition to the new venting capabilities at the Gronau facility, our customers will have access to expertise by specialists who understand their unique needs.

“On-site manufacturing also will mean shorter lead times, lower freight costs, and fewer duties and tariffs for our customers.”

Initially, TekniPlex will cater to the European, Middle Eastern, Indian, and North African markets by using the expanded venting capabilities of the Gronau plant.

The company intends to increase the facility’s venting capabilities at TekniPlex Consumer Products in India.
