A tape designed to eradicate deliver dependable splice detection has been launched by Tesa UK.
Tesa 51106 EasySplice PrintLine Detect features integrated aluminium foil. Its claimed advantages are accurate positioning, elimination of detection labels, reduction in drop copies and consistent tension across the web.
Made in blue, the tape has a tensile strength of 85N/25mm and is said to stick securely to paper roll. It eliminates the development of air pockets at the leading edge of the splice and reaches flying splice speeds of over 1000m/min.
