Sig Combibloc’s combishape shaped carton concept has seen its first worldwide commercial application.

Last April the company unveiled the combishape machinery/aseptic pack combination, promising a choice of 40 different pack shapes and designs for maximum pack differentiation, particularly in the premium dairy and soft drink and children’s beverage markets.

Now Spain’s Central Lechera Asturiana dairy at Vidreres near Barcelona, part of leading milk producer CAPSA, has launched its NaturL’nea milk in an oval-shaped 1-litre combishape carton.

Sig Combibloc provided a tailor-designed machine to pack and fill the product.

NaturL’nea contains a natural ingredient, Tonalin CLA, which CAPSA claims helps reduce fat tissue in the body by transforming existing fats into energy.

Sandra Taylor, Sig Combibloc UK marketing manager, adds: “Combishape users buy a machine dedicated to one particular pack shape, and we supply the cartons in reel form.”

Combishape packs incorporate a recloseable shapeTwist screwcap. Sig Combibloc says it is now developing a single-serve variant of the pack.
