US-based cold chain packaging provider Sonoco ThermoSafe announced the expansion of its Orion Rental packaging programme in Europe, adding a reclamation service station in Brussels.
Sonoco ThermoSafe, a unit of Sonoco, has selected CEVA Logistics as the location for the station, which is a logistics provider that complies fully with GxP and ISO requirements with more than 500 healthcare and life science firms as partners.
The packaging firm said that CEVA Logistics in Brussels was selected for the new Orion reclamation station location due to its proximity to prospective and current biopharma customers as well as other western European nations.
The BRU Orion Rental Station will carry out the essential cleaning, refurbishing, and reclamation procedures to put Orion boxes back into circulation in ‘like new’ quality, fit-for medical supplies.
Sonoco ThermoSafe business development director & Orion product manager Andrew Heholt said: “With additional rental stations in Brussels and London, the Orion Rental Programme conveniently services UK, Benelux, and DACH regions which have dense manufacturing and shipping & distribution presence.

The pharmaceutical firm receives the temperature assurance boxes Just-in-Time (JIT) from an Orion Rental Station so they may distribute their medications to their clients, who are primarily clinical locations, healthcare/distribution facilities, and now directly to patients.
The programme offers the highest level of temperature assurance packaging, technology, and customer service that supports all reusable packaging-related activities, such as forecasting and buying.
