Somic America is set to introduce new multi-component packaging machine at this year’s Pack Expo event in Chicago, US.

The event will take place from 14 to 17 September.

North American retail chains can use Somic-Flex III patent-pending machine in upright and two-part cardboard packaging applications.

According to the company, the Somic-Flex III takes multiple purpose and retail-ready packaging machinery to the next level.

The new machine can be used to produce any type of packaging carton ranging from a single wraparound carton to a multiple-component cover-tray-carton combination.

Somic-Flex III machine will also help customers to group products in an upright position or lying flat.

The new machine is equipped with Rockwell Automation control system, as well as UL certified components.

Somic also noted that all machines for the North American market will be fully supported by its new headquarters in Minnesota.

Somic is engaged in the manufacturing of end-of-line packaging machinery solutions for packaged goods companies.

The company carries out engineering and manufacturing activities in Germany. The firm has opened a new and expanded US headquarters in this year to serve North American packaged goods companies.

Near to the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, the firm’s new facility includes an equipment showroom, customer demonstration center, parts inventory, warehouse space and offices to accommodate a staff of up to 30 employees.

Somic 424 TD is a tray/cover packer, which can be used for collating, grouping and packaging products in open cases, or for tray/covered packages that need an outside cover.

The system can be installed with individual format tools for varying product dimensions and case models.

Somic 424 DT has been developed for collating, grouping and packaging products in open cases and tray/cover packages.

Somic 424 W3 is a wraparound packer developed for collating, grouping and packaging products in folded cartons, wraparound cases, display cases or open trays.

The machine can also be equipped with individual format tools for varying product dimensions and case models.
