A new range of stepper motor position controllers from Motor Technology is said to drive two-phase stepping motors in as smooth a fashion as servos.
The SER units consist of a power amplifier and an additional position control board.
The position controller can be programmed through the RS232C/V24 standard PC-COM interface or an optional RS485 interface.
True running performance is offered due to its micro-stepping operation at 12 800 steps/revolution and the facility to configure the current characteristics for the stepper motor.
The standard can be operated by serial coms, via IO lines from a PLC or as a standalone module.
